Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

We do not participate in nor are we considered in-network for any PPO network. This means your insurance company may be billed as a courtesy to you; however, you are responsible for the entire amount of your bill at the time service is provided. Most insurance companies cover a portion of your care depending on the plan and deductible.

We do not bill insurance until the services provided have been paid to us in full. Your insurance carrier will pay you directly.

My child is hesitant to come in. Do you have any suggestions to help?

Yes! It’s common for children to be worried or not want to come in because they may have had a bad experience in the past. At TrU Wave Psychology, we help everyone feel safe and comfortable with the process. Because of our experience in working with a diverse range of individuals (of all ages!) for more than 25 years, your child can feel at ease. We suggest asking them to come in once, and if they aren’t confident after their first visit, they don’t need to try again. (After the initial visit, children typically feel much more comfortable.)

How do we communicate or help our child if they are in sessions with you?

We develop a treatment plan that will enable fluid, real time communication to best assist the parents, client and family with their goals. This plan includes a one or more of the following elements: parental fit sessions with a TrU Wave Psychology therapist who specializes in coordinated therapy; family sessions; and accountability worksheets that are coordinated with the client, parent and therapist.

How long will treatment take?

Treatment will vary as each tier plan is customized for each patient. We develop a treatment plan after the third treatment session based on our formula and proprietary therapy model to ensure the fastest and most effective plan.

What do you offer that’s different than traditional therapy?

We fill in the holes of traditional therapy by providing everything under one roof and coordinating all providers and services. By assessing each individual and applying coordinated services, we are able to provide the highest prognosis for success for superior mental health.

What can I expect from micro current neurofeedback?

Micro current neurofeedback (MCN) uses a pulse to help the brain reset and reorganize itself. It involves applying small sensors to the head and neck (frequencies are weaker than that of a cell phone). A signal is sent to the most dominant brain wave. In doing this, the brain releases fixed, frozen patterns, which then “reboots” the brain. This greatly benefits the nervous system by allowing it to regulate itself. This technique is very helpful to those who often feel they are not in control of their emotions, responses and reactions (e.g., PTSD, panic attacks, depression, and anxiety).

Is MCN safe?

Yes. MCN produces less energy than a cell phone. Most individuals use neurofeedback because of its natural non-invasive treatment. It’s considered a holistic treatment for the brain.

Are there side effects from MCN?

Rarely. MCN is popular because of its comfort, low side effects and fast results.
